LITTLE OLIVE //
ALBURY’S MOST POPULAR
COUPLES STAY.

What to Expect

LITTLE OLIVE INVITES YOU TO THROW OPEN THE FRENCH DOORS, POUR A GLASS OF WINE, PICK HERBS FROM THE GARDEN AND LET THE WORLD SPIN ON WITHOUT YOU FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

ONCE HOME TO ROBERT AND ELIZABETH BROWN IN THE 1850s, THIS CHARMING OLD COTTAGE HOLDS LAYERS OF ALBURY HISTORY WITHIN ITS WALLS, AND HAS QUIETLY BECOME ALBURY’S MOST LOVED COUPLES STAY FOR VERY GOOD REASON. THERE IS SOMETHING RATHER SPECIAL ABOUT HER.

10 out of 10 would recommend this place! Every corner is well thought out with a little french touch. Appreciate all the effort thats put in decorating the place. The place is also squeaky clean and well equipped with amenities. Lovely touch on the little note and music to welcome you on arrival. Super cozy and warm place to be at. Location is convenient. Everything is within 5-10mins drive. Leanne and Victoria are super responsive, giving us recommendations and advise. Had a great stay overall!

We loved our stay at Little Olive. It was the perfect getaway and circuit breaker for us during the long weekend. We enjoyed the fire, the personal details, the intricate and thoughtful styling, and the generous offerings by our host. It was also very pleasant for our dog who we could easily duck to the nearby park with.
The place felt cosy and easy to enjoy. We spent a lot of time on the sofa, in bed, and outside.
It was by far the best and most well thought-out Airbnb that we’ve stayed at, and we want to shout out our host who clearly had put a lot of effort into creating a bespoke, historically touching, and unique Airbnb experience for us.
The place was a really great example of what Albury offers and I would highly recommend others to stay here on their trip into the town. Thanks Victoria and the team!!

Little Olive is absolutely beautiful! Every detail has been thought of, from styling and decorating to the linen bed sheets and little personalised touches. The space felt very private with a secure yard for your dog, and a great central location. I only stayed one night, however I wish my stay was longer! Would 100% recommend

Our only regret was booking on the day we needed the cottage, as we missed what looks to be a wonderful lead-up experience before arrival.
From the moment we stepped in, the history, quality, and the level of trust and respect shown to us as guests was exceptional. A sincere thank you not only to the hosts, but also to the previous guests who have clearly treated this beautiful cottage with care, allowing it to continue being something far more than accommodation — it’s an Albury experience.
We walked to a brewery with live music, strolled along the river, enjoyed a lovely meal while watching the street cruising, and then returned just a few blocks to a peaceful cottage steeped in the history of The Browns. What a valentines day.
Just wonderful. Thank you.

This was our second stay at Olive Cottage, our first being a few years ago. A quaint, beautifully styled, comprehensively equipped and very convenient refuge to break the drive from Sydney to Melbourne which was just what we and our four legged travelling companions needed - the AC was real bonus in the 40 degree heat! We’ll definitely return again on our next trip South. Thank you.

As soon as I opened the front door and walked in I breathed a sigh of happiness. The week preceding my stay at Little Olive was extremely busy. I had driven from Victoria to Sydney. I was exhausted by the time I arrived and was so relieved to see such a beautifully furnished cottage. Not only is Little Olive gorgeous, she was warm (the heating was put on prior to my arrival) soft music was playing along with dim lights to create a cozy and welcoming environment. I could not wait to have a nice hot shower and was thrilled the shower had great water pressure. The pristine and well equipped kitchen made preparing myself a light dinner very easy. The Smeg coffee machine was also greatly appreciated. The bed is so luxurious and comfortable making it hard to get out of in the morning. I would highly recommend Little Olive.

Little Olive is our benchmark for a comfortable, artful and considered space to stay in Albury. We just love staying there. Victoria’s attention to detail and skill in crafting the right blend of old and new is exceptional - such a peaceful and nourishing space - inside and out - from the cosy bed to the outdoor courtyard and all comfy lounge area. Highly recommend.

The CUTEST little cottage for our little family getaway. The Little Olive was so charming - we fell in love as soon as we walked through the door! Mood music, beautiful scents, warm decor, we felt right at home. The Olive Cottage was close by to some delicious cafe’s with the best Avo and feta on toast! The host was so welcoming to our little family and we can’t wait to find a reason to return. Highly recommend this charming, tranquil accommodation and we only wish we could have stayed longer.

If you haven’t been to Albury before, I highly recommend you do. A city that straddles the border of Victoria, just 3 hours north of Melbourne and 5 south of Sydney, Little Olive has become a very popular stop over spot for those travelling between the cities.

A bustling regional town with plenty to do, but also plenty to not-do if you are truly seeking something slow, tranquil and relaxing. Either way, Albury has you covered.

ARRIVE FROM 2PM
Little Olive is often ready before 2pm, and our team will always let you know if an earlier arrival is possible. Usually around midday, though we can’t always guarantee this.

SETTLE IN
Slip into holiday mode slowly. Put your bags down, pour a glass of wine, open the French doors and let Little Olive reveal herself. Soft music hums in the background, the cottage carries the scent of fresh florals, and tucked around every corner are thoughtful little details waiting to be discovered — including a welcome letter written just for you.

SUNDAY MORNING

‘By lantern light and the slow creak of horse and carriage, Robert and Elizabeth Brown arrived in Albury seeking a new life on the wild banks of the Murray River’

Their story became woven into the very beginnings of Albury. In 1856, Robert and Elizabeth Brown built this humble cottage beside Browns Lagoon, among river flats, towering gums and the muddy tracks of a frontier town still finding its feet.

Elizabeth, known affectionately by many as “Granny Brown”, was remembered as a caretaker of the community — said to have helped women through childbirth and cared for local families long before hospitals and modern comforts arrived in the district.

Beside the lagoon, the Browns built a life surrounded by swans, ducks, ibis, pelicans and little turtles peeking through the reeds. Nearly two centuries later, Little Olive remains a place to arrive, exhale, and feel quietly transported by the stories that still linger here.
